Privacy Policy

Overview

Probe Toolkit is built with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect personal data, we do not require user accounts, and we do not track your activity across the web. This policy explains exactly what data is and is not processed when you use our tools.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information.
  • We do not require account registration or login.
  • We do not use third-party analytics services or tracking pixels.
  • We do not build user profiles or behavioral models.
  • We do not sell, share, or transfer any user data to third parties.

Client-Side Processing

Many of our tools operate entirely within your browser. When you use a client-side tool (such as the Password Generator, Base64 Encoder, JSON Formatter, or Hash Generator), your input data is processed locally on your device using JavaScript. It never leaves your browser and is never transmitted to our servers.

Server-Side Processing

Some tools require server-side lookups to function (such as DNS Lookup, WHOIS, IP Geolocation, and SSL Certificate Checker). For these tools:

  • Your query (for example, a domain name or IP address) is sent to our server via an encrypted HTTPS connection.
  • The query is processed in memory only. It is not written to disk, stored in a database, or logged.
  • Results are returned to your browser and the server-side data is discarded immediately.

Rate Limiting

To prevent abuse, we use IP-based rate limiting (60 requests per minute per IP address). Rate limit counters are temporary and are automatically purged. IP addresses used for rate limiting are not stored permanently or used for any other purpose.

Local Storage

Probe Toolkit uses your browser's localStorage for two purposes only:

  • Theme preference: Remembering whether you selected dark or light mode.
  • Recently used tools: Storing a list of tools you have recently visited for quick access on the homepage.

This data is stored entirely in your browser and is never transmitted to our servers. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Hosting

Probe Toolkit is hosted on Hostinger. Domain registration, DNS, and web hosting are all managed through Hostinger's infrastructure. Hostinger may collect basic server access logs as part of standard hosting operations. This data is governed by Hostinger's own privacy policy.

Advertising

Probe Toolkit may display advertisements through Google AdSense or similar advertising networks in the future. If and when advertising is implemented:

  • A cookie consent mechanism will be provided before any advertising cookies are set.
  • You will be able to opt out of personalized advertising.
  • This privacy policy will be updated to reflect any changes.

HTTPS

All connections to Probe Toolkit are encrypted using HTTPS. Unencrypted HTTP requests are automatically redirected to HTTPS.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
